"Flood Senate Inboxes" Initiative

Donald Trump was democratically elected to become our next president. Many of us are incredibly concerned about what he will do in his second term. These fears are not fabricated — they are largely rooted in the dangerous and threatening statements that Trump himself, as well as some of his Cabinet nominees, have made.

That's why we need to make our voices heard - by sending our elected officials letters detailing why they should not vote for some of the most dangerous and unqualified of Trump's nominees. We only need to flip a few Republican seats to keep these nominees from getting confirmed.

Now that Trump has been inaugurated, and some confirmation hearings and votes have already taken place, we need to act now. Remind your elected officials that they should feel obligated to act in your best interest, not Trump's.

The letters have already been written for you! Go under the "Letters" page, and select the name of the desired nominee.

You are certainly welcome to make changes to the letters, but we urge you to ensure that what you write is rooted in facts and expresses concern while still maintaining a kind and appropriate tone.

To send a letter:

  • Visit the "Find Your Senator" page to find the appropriate links for contacting your senators.

  • Once you click the link, type in the necessary personal information.

  • Add your senator's name to the top of the letter and your name to the bottom (where you see "insert name"), paste in the subject and letter copy, and send!

While our priority is contacting Republicans, we hope you will reach out to your Democratic senators as well. We don’t want to take any votes for granted, and we want our elected officials to understand how large our concerns are. Send a letter to both your senators every day until the vote for that nominee takes place. We'd love for you to send all the letters, but if you only want to select one or a couple nominees, you can absolutely do that as well.

We still have a democracy. We just have to keep fighting for it every day. Let’s start here and remind our elected officials that it is our voices that matter most, not Trump's.
